Al Nassr Riyadh (SBL) tabbed 28-year old Bosnian-Bosnia and Herzegovina international 213cm center Markus Loncar for new season. He is the second import player in the roster as USA Donte McGill signed here earlier.
He was best rebounder at Al Taawoun last season where in 22 SBL games in Saudi Arabia he averaged impressive 20.0ppg, 16.2rpg, 1.8apg and 1.6bpg. He can count that season as a very successful as was voted to Asia-Basket.com Saudi Arabian SBL All-Imports Team, League Player of the Week (2 times) and Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Second Team. He also played for Braunschweig (BBL) in German league.
Loncar has a double citizenship as he also holds Croatian passport.
He has been also a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina international program for some years. Loncar has regularly played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior team since 2017 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2016.
He also represented Bosnia at the FIBA World Cup 2019 Qualifiers five years ago. During this event he scored an average of 0.8 points per game and had 1 rebounds per game.
Loncar is a very experienced player. He has played also in Bosnia (Siroki), Croatia (Cedevita, Zabok, Bosco and KK Cedevita Junior Zagreb), Germany, Poland (Enea Astoria and Stal) and Portugal (FC Porto).
Loncar won European North Basketball League championship title in 2023.
